Sam Bowie
As a great young player at Lebanon (PA) H.S., Sam Bowie was one of the most heavily recruited players in the history of the
game. Apparently, the college coaches knew what they were doing—Sam became an All-American at the University of Kentucky, was picked for
the U.S. Olympic Basketball team and was the number two pick for the NBA draft after his Junior year at Kentucky. Sam had a solid successful
career in the NBA with Portland, New Jersey and the Lakers. He overcame several serious injuries to have stellar careers at every level. In four
seasons with the Nets, he averaged 12.8 PPG and 8.2RPG.
